1904 -2025,
Indianapolis Motor Speedway, so many years, so many races, so many stories.
A lifetime of racing, a lifetime in each. The American track born in 1909 thanks to Arthur C. Newby, Frank H. Wheeler, Carl G. Fisher & James A. Allison turns 116 years old. Years that have seen and lived through many springs, ignited the realization of many dreams and shattered many.
Indianapolis is not a mere racetrack, it is not a piece of asphalt put down without heart or intention: the Motor Speedway is the excellence of 4 dreamers who believed in a project that launched among the stars names of drivers who were able to dominate the wide curves of this magnificent track. Time has chipped away at the concrete, exposed flaws related to seniority but never interrupted the dream of those who attempt American conquest.
Happy Birthday Indianapolis Motor Speedway, to you who turn 116 years of long-lived youth, to you who are second to none and none will ever be first to you. Happy Birthday Indianapolis Motor Speedway a new spring marks a new beginning, another, one of many, among motorsports novelties and boring stories that motorsports occasionally carries without thinking about the weight of each one. The white flag still waves to indicate the last lap in the race, the checkered one, however, is not yet displayed and perhaps, for you, never will be. A wish, certainly. A hope, perhaps. Certainties in this unstable age we have none, and we are forced to observe how time changes and mutates many recurrences in the name of something that does not belong to us.
Indianapolis Motor Speedway place of dreamers and fearless racers.
116 years and still so many stories to write.
Which one will be the most beautiful?
