F1,

The spectacular and eternal Interlagos, once again is the absolute protagonist.

Him again, the torcida again, Brazil again! Years go by, eras, drivers and teams. Teams change, skins change, mutate, shape, improve in the eternal evolution that motorsport and its rules impose, demand. It is an interstellar journey among the cosmos of drivers, each one unique, in his own way, legendary, in his own era, extraordinary for an attacking race or for a strategist’s management, for an extra point, to conquer the rainbow crown so much dreamed of and often only touched.

As grazed as the missed victories of Fernando Alonso who in Brazil just can not conquer the highest step of the podium despite the memories, happy, of an extraordinary epic with the yellow blue colors of Renault: two world championships, two crowns, two conquests, one King. The Spaniard in yesterday’s race fielded all his experience to defend a third place that is worth as a victory: a third place obtained from the beginning with a gazelle sprint making him a protagonist from the start. The strategy? Eclectic.

An extreme, exhausting, mental and physical defense between two fast drivers in alternating phases, with two discontinuous cars, seemingly, on the whiff of the thousandth to look for, study, figure out how to find it and steal it from the opponent. Just as happened yesterday on that last lap when the green Aston Martin stole the thousandths needed to slow time, remain eternal, in a sprint of world-class value.

What would have happened yesterday if the world title was at stake between Verstappen and Alonso? What would the Alonso – Perez duel have looked like if the colors had been Maranello red?

Anyone who followed the race must have asked themselves that question. Anyone anywhere in the world would have wanted to see those extraordinary images again with colors other than green, opening wounds that have never healed, letting a tear fall on an emotional face, a broken voice, a little absent, melancholy, romantic, absorbed in a whirlwind of emotions that ignite the colors of passion for this wonderful sport. Unique. And then? And then comes Fernando.

The torcida was all for Alonso, in that eternal moment.

Glacial milliseconds.

Motorsport is beautiful
